We have a fundamental obligation and deep commitment to providing a safe and nurturing environment for our students and their families.
In order to achieve this, the Diocese of Dallas has a Safe Environment Program that implements training, screening, background checks, and other procedures that are designed to reduce the risk of sexual abuse of children and vulnerable adults. JPII, along with surrounding parishes, the Diocese of Dallas, and other Catholic schools, each have the program and is responsible for the the program implementation and continuation.
If you wish to volunteer, please complete the Screening Form and submit it to Human Resources. Be sure to note at the top of the form that you are requesting approval to be a volunteer. We will also need a copy or original of your Certificate from having attended the Family of Faith training program within the past 12 months. If you have had the Diocesan-approved Safe Environment Training within the last 12 months (at your parish or another school in the Diocese,) please have a. copy of your completion certificate sent to us. This will expedite the processing of your documents. As educators at John Paul II High School, we have a moral and legal responsibility for the well being of minors and vulnerable adults as they pursue their education and activities within our school community.
Background Checks and Safe Environment Training are required for all faculty, staff, and volunteers at all Diocesan institutions. You may complete the training at your local parish. John Paul II High School will be offering the training in both the Fall and Spring semesters. For more information on Safe Environment, including Safe Environment documentation, please see the Diocesan Safe Environment Webpage.
