Freshmen Retreat Offers Students A Chance to "Seek" God and Good Things

On August 27, 2025, our wonderful freshmen embarked on their inaugural class retreat themed “Seek” for a day filled with fun, relaxation, and sacramental encounters with the Lord.

Encountering Christ and Building Community

The retreat began with icebreakers, including the always entertaining “Evolutionary Rock Paper Scissors” led by senior emcee Sofia Floriani.  Shortly after, in small groups led by 44 different junior and senior leaders, the freshmen got to know each other with a Name Game and some more fun icebreakers. Witness talks given by senior peer minister Mariem Samy and junior peer minister Santiago Valle-Ortega showed the freshmen the pitfalls of seeking a world without the Lord, and the amazing fruits of a life spent in friendship with God.  The freshmen engaged in thoughtful small group discussions, enjoyed recreational activities, and worshiped the Lord during Mass, adoration, and the sacrament of reconciliation. This amazing experience fostered a strong sense of belonging within our Cardinal Family.
