Rev. Mr. Jake Schroepfer, M.T.S

Deacon Jake Schroepfer joined John Paul II High School (JPII) as Interim President on August 1, 2017, and on December 1, 2017, the interim status was removed. As President, Deacon Schroepfer is responsible for directing the strategic and long-range planning for JPII and is charged with providing leadership of the school in order to achieve the fullest attainment of its mission statement.  As a minister within the Diocese of Dallas, Deacon Schroepfer is responsible for the spiritual and academic formation of students at JPII. He brings to this position a unique blend of effective leadership experience in business, non-profit work, and Catholic ministry.

His career as a business executive spanned over three decades where he founded, revitalized, and transformed marketing services companies that served FORTUNE 500 companies.  In these capacities, Schroepfer was responsible for leading business strategy, talent acquisition, and business development. He spent 23 years in various leadership roles within Omnicom Group, a leading global marketing services holding company.  He was the Founder and President of Tracy-Locke Promotions, leading this new division of parent Tracy-Locke to being named U.S. Promotional Agency of the Year by Advertising Age.  He led the rebranding and revitalization of DDB Dallas, to be  named Southwest Agency of the Year by ADWEEK. He also co-founded Schroepfer Wessels and Jolesch which was acquired by Havas Group.

Deacon Schroepfer has been active in serving non-profit organizations, having held board positions at Catholic Charities of Dallas, Metro Dallas Homeless Alliance, Dallas Citizens Council, Taylor Hooton Foundation, Dallas Chamber Orchestra and advisory council positions at the University of Texas and the University of Alabama.  Deacon Schroepfer has also provided consulting and pro-bono services for numerous other Dallas area non-profits.

Since 1987, he has demonstrated a strong commitment to Catholic education in the Diocese of Dallas, having served in various volunteer capacities at St. Patrick's Catholic School, Christ the King Catholic School, Jesuit College Preparatory, Ursuline Academy and SMU.  Prior to joining JPII, Deacon Schroepfer was the Associate Director of SMU Catholic Campus Ministry.

Deacon Schroepfer was ordained to the permanent diaconate in February of 2013 and serves Christ the King Parish in Dallas.
He received his B.S. from St John’s University in Collegeville, MN and his Masters in Theological Studies from the University of Dallas. He has also completed graduate work in business communications and law and has earned a certificate in social media marketing.  He and his wife, Molly, have three adult children and three grandchildren.
