  • 1million4Anna

In November of 2009 a JPII student, Anna Basso was diagnosed with Ewing sarcoma, a bone and soft tissue cancer. In an effort to heal her body and encourage her spirit, her family and friends established 1 Million 4 Anna. The goal was to get over a million prayers said in her name every day at 12:12 pm. Though Anna’s fight lasted 18 months, her legacy will continue forever. The JPII 1million4Anna club will support the foundation’s efforts to eradicate Ewing Sarcoma. We will support the organization today by making prayer cards and collecting small gifts for those currently fighting Ewing Sarcoma. We will support in helping those who have fought and won the battle with Ewing Sarcoma. And will make a lifelong commitment to end this cancer, even after we graduate from JPII.

  • Catholic Athletes for Christ

The purpose of the John Paul II Chapter of the Catholic Athletes for Christ is to promote discipleship, charity, service, and carrying the teachings of the Church both on and off
    the athletic field.

“Chapter lessons are Sacramentally focused and always begin with sports terminology and stories and then interweave the faith analogies and teachings. For example, the lessons discuss the importance of the virtue of fortitude for individual and team performance and then (and only then) do they explain the theological underpinnings of the virtue as applied to the whole athlete. Our approach is on the
teachings of the Catholic Church on the dignity of the human person based on the divinely created wholeness of the body, mind, and soul”.
