Safe Environment

As educators at John Paul II High School, we have a moral and legal responsibility for the well being of minors and vulnerable adults as they pursue their education and activities within our school community.  We have a fundamental obligation and deep commitment to provide a safe and nurturing environment for our students and their families.

In order to achieve this, the Diocese of Dallas has a Safe Environment Program that implements training, screening, background checks and other procedures that are designed to reduce the risk of sexual abuse of children and vulnerable adults.  JPIIHS, along with surrounding parishes, the Diocese of Dallas, and other Catholic schools, each have the program and is responsible for the program implementation and continuation.

Any staff member or volunteer working with children must be Safe Environment cleared. This requires several steps:

1. Screening Form: This can be accessed here.
2. Training: Must complete initial and annual training.

  • The initial training MUST be "Family of Faith". Training is offered at JPIIHS the second Tuesday and Saturday of each month. Please sign-up for on-site training here
  • For anyone needing to renew their annual training, this can be completed online by accessing the Diocesan page here.
3. Interview and Policy acknowledgement: This must be conducted in person at JPIIHS after above steps have been completed. An appointment can be scheduled by contacting  This email address is being protected from spambots.
