The Guidance and Counseling Department at John Paul II High School has designed a comprehensive program that supports the academic, personal and social development of all students. In addition, the counseling department provides in-depth four year college and career planning. Our counselors achieve this through classroom guidance, individual and small group meetings, presentations, workshops and evening information sessions. Utilizing a variety of resources, the students of JP II will be equipped to identify, research and design a path suitable for success through high school and into their post-secondary education.
Students at JP II will be encouraged to take challenging courses, get involved in extracurricular activities, build organizational skills, develop study skills, and get involved in Christian service. Parents will be given opportunities to meet the counselors, understand the transition of their student from middle school to high school, and learn what role the counselors play in this process. We use a proactive approach with an excellent counselor to student ratio. Personal attention is given to counseling the whole student, with any special needs taken into consideration. All students will be empowered to be well rounded, striving for excellence, valuing individuality, and focused on the development of faith, mind and body.
With the highly skilled counseling staff at John Paul II High School, parents and students should feel confident that our four year comprehensive college program will cover all facets of the college application process.
